This is a Young's pub. The beer is consistently served well, the place has a nice atmosphere (including an open fire in winter) and a garden. It's also one of the few Oxford pubs to have a bar billiards table. The seating outside the front of pub does face directly onto the St. Clement's but is surprisingly pleasant.

Claim to have a very large number of pub games.

They do food at least during the day (they claim 12-2:30,6-8:30 Monday, 12-3,6-9 Tues-Sat, and 12-5 Sun). It wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about.

They do Youngs bottled beers 4/£6 to takeaway (more if you don't take it away). The London Special Bottle Conditioned Ale was really quite nice. (as at 21st July 2008, this offer withdrawn - hope to re-instate soon).

Guide beer prices: Youngs Bitter - £2.25, Golden Zest (a refreshing summer beer), £2.40 (Aug 2004)

Kake, Feb 2012: Small step, a 90 degree turn, and a larger step to get in. Five handpumps which today have Oxfordshire Ales Marshmellow (£1.70/half), Young's Bitter, Young's Gold (rebadged as Angel & Greyhound Gold), Young's Special, and Young's London Porter. Jug of tap water on the end of the bar with glasses for one to help oneself. Bar snacks including "hand reared pork pies" (£3) and home made pork crackling (£2). Music playing very quietly. Customers include at least two toddlers, so it appears to be child-friendly. Quite a few people in at 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon.
