Main information
Content:
An excellent selection of locally produced food, pretty much direct from the producer, with an emphasis on organic and free-range produce. With Oxfordshire traditionally being pig-farming country, it is no surprise that there are always a few stalls selling pork products, including sausages and bacon. There is also usually one beef stall and a couple selling lamb. Aside from the meat, there are normally stalls selling organic fruit and veg, bread, cakes and other baked goods, cheese (made from cows', sheep's and goats' milks), watercress, eggs, trout, beer, plants, icecream and apple juice. The prices are reasonable and the stallholders all have a passion for their produce and love to chat about how you might use it. A three month trial of having the market twice a month (1st and 3rd Thursday) begins in July 2006.
