Gill and Co, or simply Gills, was a traditional ironmongers located down an alleyway off the [[Locale High Street|High Street]]. It [http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/headlines/8260254.Oxford_ironmonger_s_to_close_after_480_years/ closed for good] in August 2010, and as of May 2012 [http://twitter.com/EliseDB/status/202795396840427520 the premises are occupied by] a Taiwanese tea shop called [[Formosan Tea Bar]]. Gill and Co are still trading from Chipping Norton however. According to the Gills website, the business dated back several hundred years. It wasn't beyond belief that if you asked the right question one of the shopkeeps would fish out of a little box something that had been there since then, and then proceed to charge you sixpence ha'penny for it. In any case, although the shop was small and hidden away, practically any ironmongery that you could want would be found in this shop.
