Ben's Cookies is a small, cramped stall along the High Street edge of the Covered Market. It sells gorgeously indulgent cookies in a dozen flavours, though their most popular varieties are probably the hugely chocolatey ones.

They're not cheap, by any means, but they're well worth it. Freshly baked and still soft and gooey on the inside, they're a treat not to be missed.

Simon says: "Ben's is the place where, at 4pm on Thursday 4th week of my first term in Oxford, I failed to show up for an extremely hot date. She didn't want to reschedule. I've had no inclination to go back to Ben's Cookies ever since."
