Well, I went to the Chester tonight to listen to Topaz, and had a really good time. It's a pleasant little pub with a nice beer garden out the back, down the end of Chester Street, off Iffley Road. The location gives it a nice villagey feel. Seems popular with Aldates folk.

It's run by Pubmaster, and they had three real ales on draft at reasonable prices; Tim Taylor's Landlord, Deuchar's Caledonian, and Jenning's Cumberland. All very good beers.

It's establishing itself as a good venue for folk and roots music, and it seems they have live music on three times a week, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. I'll definitely be coming back to hear more there.
