The beer is no longer abysmal,in fact it is pretty damn good; but you don't just go to the Half Moon for the beer; you go for the atmosphere and the extremely accomodating service. There's Guinness and Greene King IPA and Abbot on tap, and a folk club on Sunday nights which is amazing and an open mic Thursday night with poetry readings and local music talent. Joe Ryan has sadly retired but has passed the baton on to Jamie Fisher who seems determined to carry on the legacy built up for great music, conversation and oh yes, a late licence every night!
