My last visit was in December 2011; I had dim sum at the Oriental Condor, followed by a walk around the Botley Road area, and finally some real ale and cider at The Punter.

The dim sum at Oriental Condor was decent but not outstanding. The har gow were well-constructed, with eleven pleats (the higher the number of pleats, the greater the skill of the chef), but the prawns inside seemed a little overcooked. Rice with preserved vegetable and minced pork was well-flavoured but I normally expect a more glutinous strain of rice in this dish. Pea shoot dumplings had lovely green wrappings and plenty of tasty pea shoots inside. The staff were friendly and helpful, and were happy to accommodate the eight-month-old baby in our party.

It's all my fault.

I don't live in Oxford any more, but I still visit sometimes.

I was a little disappointed not to see any interesting real ales on at the Punter, and the feel was more of a place-for-eating than a pub, but this may have been because it was quite close to Christmas and they had at least two pre-booked parties in.
