The Oxford Guide - Differences between Version 12 and Version 8 of Kidlington And Gosford Swimming Pool

Version 12 Version 8
== Line 0 == == Line 0 ==
Recently refurbished leisure centre in [[Locale Kidlington|Kidlington]], now run by Parkwood Leisure on behalf of Cherwell District Council.
This is my local swimming pool - and it's very temperamental.

The poolside area has been improved, and a small cafe area added. The building work has not quite finished yet, so the carpark is still smaller than usual, but all facilties are open.

pros:
== Line 9 ==
* Astro pitch
* It is possible to use the gym without committing to a membership scheme. Once you have paid for an induction, you can use the gym on a pay-per-session basis.
* Swimming pool is £3.10 a time for non-members.

address='Kidlington and Gosford Sports Centre, Oxford Road, Kidlington'
category='Gym,Sports,Swimming Pool'
edit_type='Minor tidying'
cons:
*It's £2-80 a time - and considering the longest open swim session they have is 3 hours that's hardly cheap
[EDIT: - Pro: It's cheaper than the £3.40 casual swim price demanded by the city council at Marston Ferry Pool in Summertown]

There are millions of annoying bratty children in the open swim and the lifeguards to little or nothing to keep them out of the way of serious swimmers

Lifeguards aren't particularly attractive.

Changing rooms are abysmal - i'd advise getting changed before you get there.

[ed. This person seems quite pompous & demanding (which isn't particularly attractive) - it's a good pool for locals.]

This is my local swimming pool - and it's very temperamental.

pros:

  • It's local for Kidlington dwellers
  • On the main bus route
  • Lots of different sessions to cater for different tastes
  • Can buy membership for the pool without the gym
  • 25m pool

cons:

  • It's £2-80 a time - and considering the longest open swim session they have is 3 hours that's hardly cheap
