The museum houses the [[Oxford University | University]]'s natural history collections including zoological, entomological, geological, palaeontological and mineralogical specimens. The lecture theatre in the museum is famous for being the place where the reception of the first signal sent by radio took place. Look out for the ornate iron work in the roof and the differing rocks in the columns in the upper galleries. Admission is free.

The [[Pitt Rivers Museum]] is accessed via the rear of the museum.
