The Oxford Guide - Differences between Version 14 and Version 1 of Oxford Prison

Version 14 Version 1
== Line 1 == == Line 0 ==
Oxford Prison functioned as a prison from 1888 to 1996. Once closed it was used as a film set for productions such as Spy Game (2001) and the television series Bad Girls (1999-2006).

In 2006 it was converted into a 5 star hotel by the [http://www.malmaison.com/ Malmaison] group
, and a shopping and heritage complex including a visitor attraction called [http://www.oxfordcastleunlocked.co.uk/ Oxford Castle Unlocked]. Oxford Castle Unlocked was highly commended in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category of the [http://industry.visitsoutheastengland.com/site/tourism-exsellence-awards-2007 2007 Tourism ExSEllence awards].
Not much to say here except that the prison is now disused and had been used in the past as a film set for productions such as Bad Girls, and Spy Game. I believe the prison is now being redeveloped.
