The University parks are situated on the east of the river [[Cherwell]] just north of the Unversity [[Science Area]] and west of [[Parks Road]]. They cover approximately 70 acres in a rectangular area and include areas for football, tennis and cricket as well as a general play area at the western end. The cricket pavillion, cherwell and the pond are the most prominent features. The parks can be accessed either from [[Parks Road]], from the bridge over the [[Cherwell]], next to [[Linacre College]] by the South Lodge or from the North by [[Lady Margaret Hall]]. The parks are very popular and there is much of interest both in the archaeology and wildlife. An ice cream fan sits on [[Parks Road]] to tempt students leaving the [[comlab]] and [[engineering areas]]. |
