The Oxford Guide - Differences between Version 6 and Version 5 of Water Eaton Park And Ride

Version 6 Version 5

Water Eaton Park and Ride is situated on the Banbury Road, just over the A34 bridge from Kidlington. It is next to the abandoned grain mill (which rumour suggests may become an Ikea superstore - although it's now being considered for demolition for the proposed railway station or a waste processing plant). It is mostly convenient for people coming in through Kidlington; drivers on the A34 may well find it more convenient to reach [[Pear Tree Park and Ride]] instead. The buses run every 15 minutes, which is less frequent than those from Pear Tree, but they are air conditioned.

The proposed Chiltern Railways [http://www.chiltern-evergreen3.co.uk/ Project Evergreen3] rail link between Oxford and London Marylebone would see the construction of a new railway station here, Water Eaton Parkway, anticipated to open in 2013.

There is no Park and Ride bus service from Water Eaton on Sundays, or after about 7pm at night. On Sundays, it is suggested that visitors use Pear Tree Park and Ride instead. The Oxford Bus Company route 2 and Stagecoach Oxford route 7 (and letter-bearing variants on both) serve the Banbury Road however and stops for them both are a short walk from the Park and Ride.
