Historical version 5 of Bookbinders (view current version)

The Bookbinders is a rather eccentric establishment nestled away in the back streets of Jericho. The location guarantees you’ll avoid the majority of the student crowd with the clientele consisting of Oxford locals and those students who have put the effort into finding somewhere different. Decoration seems to be a satire of “NuMorrellian”; expect serendipitous finds amongst the more usual ‘old’ fittings.

The staff are friendly and possibly as a side effect of spending too much time in these surrounds, slightly odd. Don’t forget to pick up your free monkey nuts. Drinks consist the usual Belgian lager and Irish stout with a very good selection of regular (Greene King) and guest ales.

On the food side, it still does a reasonable range of standard bar meals at about GBP 5.95. Claims to be a "sausage pub" and has a good selection of sausage dishes. However it's worth pointing out that at busy times they can get very stressed about getting food out of the kitchen in a timely fashion. If you're going in a large group it's best to avoid obvious busy periods.
