This is a prime spot to go whilst punting along the Cherwell. It had a good selection of beers the last time I went, and reasonable (although quite expensive) food. It has a large sloping lawn down to the river bank.

This pub is one of many that appeared in the TV series of Inspector Morse. They have photos taken during the shooting framed in the main bar.

Now under a new tenancy couple, the pub has undergone a return to being a pub and not so much of a theme site. Guest beers now change every couple of weeks and a new food approach has re-vitalised the whole place. Much more reason to make the journey now.
